1/2TeaspoonDried Basil
Sauce:
4TablespoonUnsalted Butter
1CupTomatoesPeeled and Chopped
3/4CupOnionChopped
3/4CupGreen Bell Pepper
3/4CupCeleryChopped
1 1/2TeaspoonGarlicMinced
1 1/2CupChicken Stock
1CupTomato Sauce
1TeaspoonSugar
1/2TeaspoonTabasco Sauce
Instructions
Combine all ingredient for seasoning mix in a small bowl. Set aside.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add tomatoes, onion, celery, bell pepper, garlic and seasoning mix. Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add stock, tomato sauce, sugar and Tabasco and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to maintain a simmer and cook 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaves before serving.
