Ingredients

Cookies:

  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter at Room Temperature
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 5 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

Frosting:

  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter at Room Temperature
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 4 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 5 Tablespoons Whole Milk

Instructions

  • For the Cookies:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Line a 13X 18 inch baking sheet with aluminum foil extending the ends a few inches beyond pan.
  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each egg. Add vanilla and mix well.
  • In a separate bowl combine flour, salt and baking soda and stir with a whisk to combine.
  •  Add to wet mixture and mix just until combined. Spread on prepared  baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 min ( usually takes 18 minutes in my oven) until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely and frost.
  • Meanwhile, make the frosting; with an electric mixer, beat butter until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla and salt. Add powdered sugar in 1-2 cup increments until combined. Add milk and mix until smooth and spreading consistency. Spread over cooled cookie and top with sprinkles.
