Combine. Add heavy whipping cream (1 1/2 cups), milk (6 cups), sweetened condensed milk (1 can), and vanilla extract (2 teaspoons) to a crockpot, and whisk to combine. Add chocolate chips (11.5-ounce bag) and stir. Cover and cook for 1 1/2 -2 hours on low, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is melted and mixture is hot.
Whisk + enjoy! Whisk well before serving. Ladle into cups and serve with marshmallows. Enjoy!
Notes
Heavy Whipping Cream: I only use heavy whipped cream in this recipe. It really creates a lusciously rich drink. That said if you want to cut back on the richness, substitute the heavy cream with whole milk.
Milk: I only use whole milk in this recipe.
Sweetened Condensed Milk: This ingredient is super important! It makes the hot chocolate extra creamy and actually makes it have the perfect milky flavor.
Vanilla Extract: Use pure vanilla extract, not artificial, for the best flavor. Use pure vanilla extract, not artificial, for the best flavor.
Milk Chocolate Chips: You can switch up the chocolate chips if you'd like. I prefer Milk chocolate because the mixture is already super-rich. I find that semisweet makes it too rich. It would be yummy if you made this with white chocolate chips or even salted caramel morsels.
Give it a Final Stir! Before you ladle into mugs, give the mixture a final stir.
