Pour sugar onto a small plate in a thin, even layer. Rub the lemon wedge around the rim of 2 martini glasses. Dip the rim of your glasses into the sugar and set them aside.
Add pear vodka (1 1/2 ounces), sugar (1 teaspoon), juiced lemon (2 wedges), apple juice (1/2 ounce), and cranberry juice (1/2 ounce) to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake to combine.
Pour martini into 2 glasses, and decorate with sliced pear. Cheers!
Notes
Pear Vodka: I use Absolute pear vodka. I know a lot of people think that pear cocktail with grey goose is better, but while it may be controversial to say, I honestly don't care for the taste of Grey Goose La Poire Vodka. I think it has a strong, strange pear flavor.
Sugar: The recipe uses granulated sugar. It dissolves beautifully in the shaker. No need to go to the extra step of making simple syrup.
Lemon: Please use fresh lemon in this recipe!
Apple Juice and Cranberry Juice: These juices don't seem like they would fit into the flavor this martini! Surprisingly, they blend in perfectly and the end result is the perfect pear flavor!
Pear: The fresh pear is just for garnish. I like to add one thinly sliced pear to a cocktail pick for a pretty presentation.
