  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Cup Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • Salt
  • 1 Pound Ground Beef, 80/20
  • 1/2 Cup Canned Tomato Sauce
  • 2 Teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 3 tablespoons water


  • In a skillet, heat vegetable oil until it begins to shimmer. Stir in onions and saute until they're soft, about 5 minutes. 
  • Add chili powder, garlic, cumin, coriander, oregano, cayenne, and 1 teaspoon salt. Continue to cook until mixture becomes fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Add ground beef, breaking up the meat, and continue to cook until there is no longer any pink left, about 5 minutes. 
  • Add the tomato sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and water. Simmer mixture until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning as needed.
