These yummy Union Square Cafe bar nuts are positively addicting! I’d even go out on a limb and say these are the best bar nuts ever created!
Sweet, salty, slightly spicy, and rosemary infused. It’s the rosemary that truly knock these nuts outta the park. No one can leave these alone. They’re great to serve at parties, they make great hostess gifts and they also make wonderful Christmas gifts for friends and neighbors. If all this wasn’t enough, they’re a snap to make.
Union Square Cafe Bar Nuts Ingredients
- Roasted Nut Combination: Try to find a low sodium roasted mixed nut combo. You’ll have better control of the overall salt in the finished nuts. That said, I use Costco extra fancy mixed nuts, which come salted. You simply can’t beat the price. This is not an endorsement it’s just what fits best for our budget and gives us great results. I generally don’t add extra salt.
- Rosemary: This must be fresh rosemary. This recipe is not one to use dried rosemary.
- Cayenne Pepper: This add the spicy element to this dish. Adjust more or less for your personal taste.
- Brown Sugar: I prefer to use dark brown sugar for the extra molasses flavor. Light brown sugar will work as well. Just be sure to pack it well when you measure it.
- Salt: Add to taste. It will adhere best to the mix if you add it when the nuts are hot or at least warm.
- Butter: I use unsalted butter.
How To Store Union Square Cafe Bar Nuts
- How To Store: Store in an airtight container, at room temperature, for 4-5 days
- How Long Can These Be Frozen: Yes. Freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
- If frozen, thaw overnight in the fridge then gently warm them in a 250 degree oven for 5 minutes after thawing.
How To Make Union Square Cafe Bar Nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spread nuts out on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until light golden brown, about 10 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine rosemary, cayenne, sugar, salt and melted butter. Add nuts and thoroughly toss the toasted nuts in spiced butter and serve warm or room temperature.

- 2 16 Ounce Bags of Reduced Salt Roasted Assorted Nuts
- 4 Tablespoons Fresh Rosemary Finely Chopped
- 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar Packed
- 1 Teaspoon or as needed Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter Melted
