Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Spray a 9X13 inch baking dish with nonstick baking spray.
In a small mixing bowl, lightly beat the eggs (2).
In a large mixing bowl, using a hand-held electric mixer, mix together cake mix (1 box), eggs, and melted butter (1/3 cup).
Fold in chocolate chips (12 ounces) until evenly dispersed.
Spread dough evenly in the prepared baking dish. The dough is very thick.
Bake in preheated oven for 20-22 minutes, or until the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely, then cut and serve!
Notes
Tips for spreading the batter: When the dough is mixed it becomes very thick. Use a rubber spatula or your hands with a little bit of butter on them to spread the dough into the baking dish.
Do Not Overmix: Because this recipe is so simple, it’s easy to accidentally overmix the bars. I fold the chocolate chips in rather than use the mixer for this reason.
