Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise (1 cup) and buttermilk (3/4 cup) until smooth.
  • Add all the remaining ingredients and whisk until well combined.

Notes

  1. Shake the Buttermilk in the carton before measuring it for best results.
  2. Start By Combining Base Ingredients: Mix buttermilk and mayonnaise. At this point, adjust the ratio based on your preferred consistency and creaminess level.
  3. Taste And Adjust: Like all recipes, taste and adjust salt and pepper if needed.
  4. Let it Chill: For the best flavor, refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to marry and meld together.
  5. Customize: To shake up the flavors in the dressing, try adding a dash of hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, or cayenne pepper.
  6. Add Blue Cheese: If you’d prefer blue cheese dressing, try adding blue cheese to this dressing.
