Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 4 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

Instructions

  • Add the first 9 ingredients to the bowl of a food processor.
  • With the food processor running, slowly add the oil until blended.

Notes

  1. This red wine vinaigrette dressing is versatile: Drizzle it on a crisp salad, pasta salad, quinoa salad, dress your hoagies or sub sandwiches, marinate chicken, shrimp, and fish, and roast veggies. It turns plain old romaine or baby spinach into something special!
You can also add or swap these ingredients for a variation:
  1. Grated Parmesan Cheese for cheesiness.
  2. Chives because they're delicious in this vinaigrette.
  3. Mayo for a creamy version
  4. Greek yogurt instead of mayo is a healthy choice
  5. Add or substitute fresh herbs.
  6. Use Spicy Brown mustard instead of Dijon for a zippy variation.
  7. Use balsamic vinegar, white wine vinegar,  or apple cider vinegar in lieu of red wine vinegar.
