Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup beef broth
  • 5 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • In a large skillet or saucepan, add the ground beef (1 pound) and beef broth (1/3 cup) and mash, using a potato masher to break the beef up (you'll want really small pieces).
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, reduce heat and simmer until chili has thickened and beef is fully cooked for about 25-30 minutes.

Notes

  1. Ground Beef: I like to use a blend of 8o/20 ground beef. I like the flavor this combo adds to the chili rather than a leaner combo like 90/10.
