This easy Pierogi Casserole is the ultimate comfort food dinner! Frozen cheddar pierogi are layered with creamy Alfredo sauce, smoky kielbasa, green onions, and plenty of melted cheese for a hearty family meal that's ready with just 5 minutes of prep.
Preheat oven to 350ºF (177ºC). Spray a 9x13“ baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Spray one side of a large piece (sized to cover the baking dish.) of aluminum foil with nonstick cooking spray; set the dish and foil aside.
Spread half the frozen pierogies in a single layer in a prepared baking dish.
Spoon half of the alfredo sauce over the pierogies.
Spread half the kielbasa over the pierogies and sauce.
Sprinkle half the cheese over the kielbasa.
Repeat one more layer of each. Cover with prepared foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove foil and continue to bake until heated through and bubbly, about 20-25 minutes. Garnish with green onions.
Notes
Use frozen pierogi: They go straight from the freezer into the casserole—no thawing or boiling required.
Freshly shredded cheese melts best: Pre-shredded cheese works, but shredding your own creates an even creamier topping.
Rest before serving: Allowing the casserole to sit for a few minutes helps the sauce thicken slightly and makes serving easier.
Broiling is optional: It adds a beautiful golden, bubbly cheese topping but isn't required.
