There are few sweet delights in life like whipped honey. Frothy, creamy, and golden delicious, whipping honey transforms the golden liquid into a frothy, airy, spreadable delight!
Whipped honey is a luscious accompaniment to cornbread, drizzle over Greek yogurt with fruit, spread it on buttered toast, pour over pancakes and waffles, put it in your tea, or take a teaspoon for coughs.
This condiment is so versatile, you will find yourself enjoying it almost every day!
BEST HONEY TO USE
We use raw honey. Raw honey, is not processed and contains antioxidants, anti-inflammatory effects, and is a healthy option to processed white granulated sugar.
However, if you are allergic to bee pollen, raw honey may not be for you.
WHIPPED HONEY INGREDIENTS
- Honey: I used a high-quality local raw honey. Honey is one of those products that may include other ingredients like high fructose corn syrup. Read the ingredients on the label and look for a local provider.
- Real honey is typically labeled with the place of origin and the type of honey (clover, wildflower, etc.). If the label doesn’t include this information, it may be mixed with cheaper ingredients.
TIPS
- Stand-Up Mixer: I whipped the honey for 20 minutes in a stand-up mixer and the result is a golden light frothy bowl of goodness. I suggest using a stand-up mixer instead of a hand-held mixer or my hand. Whipping by hand for 20 minutes will seem like a lifetime!
- Keep It Plain: Some recipe suggests optional cinnamon. I choose not to use it. I like a pure taste and I promise you, you’ll love the taste and texture of this spread. It’s a very familiar homey taste with a completely new twist on the texture!
BEST WAY TO SERVE
This is perfect to serve on biscuits, like our Bisquick biscuits, Bisquick rolled biscuits, butter swim biscuits, or cat head biscuits.
It’s great with just about any type of cornbread. We love it with our Southern cornbread, Bisquick cornbread, or jalapeño cornbread (I love the sweet honey with the spicy pepper!).
HOW TO MAKE WHIPPED HONEY

STORING + FREEZING + MAKE-AHEAD
- How Long Can You Keep This in The Fridge? I wouldn’t put it in the refrigerator because you want to keep moisture away once your honey is whipped. Whipped Honey should be stored in a cool, dark area that does not vary in temperature. Store it in an air-tight container. It will last as long as regular honey.
- Can You Freeze This? I do not recommend freezing.
- Make-Ahead: You can prepare whipped honey anytime for future use!
