In my opinion, honey mustard a very important condiment to keep on hand. I understand that condiments are a very personal thing. I have a family member, who will remain nameless, that does not eat any sort of condiment. Nothing. Not even ketchup. I think she’s a nut, but that doesn’t negate her right to hate condiments. What preferred brand of mayo do you use? Asking because there is I notice a big difference in taste when using miracle whip as compared to Helmans (aka best foods mayo in the west).
Hi Debbie. Yes, I use Helmans/Best Foods <3
what if your store does not have Creole Mustard? Is there something else that can be used?
Hi Linda. Gosh, I really don’t know of a substitute. I’m sorry. It’s available on Amazon though!
Linda, the mom-and-pop I used to get Zatarain’s mustard at no longer carries it and I forgot to get more on Amazon. The Walmart stone-ground works fairly well. I’ve had the Tabasco Creole mustard (Indiana here) and wasn’t a fan.
Great recipe – have made another version but instead of creole mustard – I use Tony Chachere’s – Creole Seasoning – easy to find pretty much everywhere. It can get salty if a lot is added – so I adjust accordingly. Just adjust to your own taste buds.
What is creole?
Hi Karen it’s Creole Mustard <3
