This cherry cobbler with cake mix just might be the easiest and yummiest cobbler you’ve ever tried! It’s loaded with lots of luscious cherry pie filling and topped with a cakey buttery topping.
This simple cobbler has the perfect sweet-tart flavor combination and it only requires 3 easy to find ingredients! Best of all, because you don’t need to rely on fresh fruit, it can be made any time of the year, just like my Bisquick peach cobbler.

What Is The Difference Between a Cherry Dump Cake And A Cherry Cobbler With Cake Mix?
They are extremely similar and use the same ingredients. The difference being a dump cake places the butter, either in thin slices or melted evenly drizzled over the top. This creates a crispy topping similar to a crisp.
This cobbler mixes the cake mix and melted butter together to create a cobbler-like crumb topping.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Cherry Pie Filling
- White Cake Mix
- Butter

Recipe Variations
- Almond: I love the combo of cherries and almonds. Try adding 1/2 teaspoon almond extract to the cherry filling or mixing in chopped or slivered almonds with the cake mix and butter.
- Make mine Chocolate: Switch out the white cake mix with a chocolate cake mix for a chocolate cherry cobbler.
- Browned Butter: For a richer, nuttier cobbler topping, brown the butter before mixing it with the cake mix.
