Easy to make, and hard to forget, your guests will love my vintage spinach and artichoke dip. A super rich and creamy perennial favorite. It seems like most people have a version of it, but, just in case you don’t, here’s mine. It originally comes from my mom.
It’s rich, creamy, and bubbly hot. It’s great served with crackers or chunks of sourdough. It’s a snap to put together so it’s perfect for those times when you are short on time.

Let’s make this dip!
Spinach And Artichoke Dip Recipe Ingredients
- Mayonnaise: I use Best Foods mayo.
- Parmesan: Use a good quality Parm either shredded from a wedge or in a container from the deli counter. Don’t use the stuff from the green container.
- Artichoke Hearts: I use the artichoke hearts in a can, well-drained.
- Frozen Spinach: It’s very important to thaw and drain the spinach very well. I press mine in a sieve then spread it in a clean kitchen towel and wring out any remaining liquid.
- Cream Cheese: Make sure it’s at room temperature so it will combine evenly.
- Tabasco Sauce: I like a little hot sauce in this recipe. I add very little and honestly, it’s not spicy. If you want to spice it up, feel free to add more.
Storing + Freezing + Make Ahead
- How Long Can You Keep This In The Fridge? I usually only keep it in the fridge for 3-4 days.
- Can You Freeze This? Unfortunately, you cannot freeze this dip. It would do serious damage to the deliciously creamy texture.
- Make-Ahead Tips: to take this dip tailgating, prepare dip ahead and store it in a heavy foil pan. Then, when it’s time to serve, simply heat the dip up on your grill!
- Food Safety: If you’d like more info on food safety check out this link.
What Are The Best Crackers For Spinach Artichoke Dip?
I like to serve this dip with a sturdy cracker. Crostini is great, Triscuit, Pepperidge Farm Trio Variety Crackers, or Wheat Thins.
What To Serve With Hot Spinach And Artichoke Dip
Any of the crackers mentioned above are wonderful. I also like to serve fresh, cut veggies like celery, carrots, and cucumbers. Torn pieces of sourdough are great as well.
How To Make Spinach And Artichoke Dip
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Thoroughly mix all ingredients together and spread into a small baking dish.
-
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until heated through. Place under the broiler if you would like the top browned.
How To Make it Lighter?
Use light mayo and light cream cheese (Neufchatel cheese) instead of the full-fat versions.
Is Costco spinach dip good?
Costco’s La Terra Fina Spinach Artichoke & Parmesan Dip is actually good. Listen, it’s nowhere near as good as this easy-to-put-together dip but, in a pinch, it’s worth grabbing when you’re at Costco.

I love the golden color on top. You can't go wrong with a delicious spinach dip but when artichokes are involved as well, it just kicks it up a notch.

I can almost taste it right now. I love how creamy and flavorful the spinach and artichoke dip is. Yours looks delicious!
P.S. If I have leftovers I will spread it onto pizza crust and bake OR I like to bake up biscuits (homemade or canned) spoon some of the warm dip over the biscuits and top with a fried or poached egg. Sorry if those sound strange, but I would literally eat spinach and artichoke dip on anything:D

This is one of my all time favorite dips! At parties when they have this, I usually settle my self in its vicinity and keep eating it during the whole party, not realizing how much I am consuming. I did have a recipe for it but not sure what happened to it. So thank you!

This dip looks fab, and I can't wait to try it! Love the broiler touch, too. Of course, I would make it with 1 tbs. of hot sauce! 🙂

That looks awesome. I haven't had any yet, and already I want seconds.
It's been so long since I've made this dip, that I can't remember the recipe I used. But it looks like you've just solved that dilemma.

That looks amazing. Great job by finishing it under the broiler. The cheese looks perfect. I don't think you can do any better. My last post was of some tilapia that I cooked. I thought the tilapia just looked great, visually. I feel the same way about your dip. Just striking. Awesome job. Cheers!
