Pear Martini
This pear vodka martini is quick and easy to make at home. First sugar the rim of a martini glass. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add all the martini ingredients. Now shake!! Strain and pour into prepared glass. How easy is that?!!
This martini is made with commercially made pear vodka. If you’d prefer a fresh version, you can make it by muddling a fresh pair and using plain vodka.
If you want a smooth, pulp-free pear vodka cocktail, muddle the pear separately with crushed ice in a cocktail shaker and strain it before combining it with the rest of the martini ingredients.
I’ve noticed a lot of recipes online for pear martini with elderflower liqueur. Elderflower liqueur is an artisanal French liqueur flavored with elderflower blossoms. It has a slight pear flavor but a strong perfume taste. I personally prefer my martini without that perfume taste and a cleaner, true pear flavor.

What is Pear Vodka?
Pear vodka is simply a vodka that has been flavored with either imitation or natural pear flavoring. Sugar is often added to vodka.
Important Ingredient Notes
- Pear Vodka: I use Absolute pear vodka. I know a lot of people think that a pear martini with grey goose is better, but while it may be controversial to say, I honestly don’t care for the taste of Grey Goose La Poire Vodka. Please don’t leave me hate comments! I think it has a strong, strange pear flavor.
- Sugar: This recipe uses granulated sugar. It dissolves beautifully in the shaker. No need to go to the extra step of making simple syrup.
- Lemon: Please use fresh lemon in this recipe!
- Apple Juice and Cranberry Juice: These juices don’t seem like they would fit into the flavor of this martini! Surprisingly, they blend in perfectly and the end result is the perfect pear flavor!
- Pear: The fresh pear is just for garnish. I like to add one thinly sliced pear to a cocktail pick for a pretty presentation.
Step By Step How To Make Pear Vodka Martini
- Rub the lemon wedge around the rim of 2 martini glasses.
- Dip the rim of your glasses into the sugar and set them aside.
- Add pear vodka, sugar, juiced lemon, apple juice, and cranberry juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake to combine.
- Pour martini into 2 glasses, and decorate with sliced pear.
How to Store and Make Ahead
- How Long Can You Keep This In The Fridge? Vodka can be kept in the fridge indefinitely, but since this has apple juice, it can only be kept for 7-10 days. If you plan to store it, do not shake it over ice, just mix all the ingredients together and shake it over ice when you’re ready to serve.
- Can You Freeze This? If you have some extra left, pour it in an ice cube tray, and it can be kept in the freezer for 8-12 months.
- Make-Ahead Tips: This is best to make fresh! You can mix the martini ingredients together, add ice and garnish once you’re ready to drink it.
