This easy pear martini recipe has all the sweet, crisp pear flavor of a fresh, juicy pear. It’s the perfect cocktail for just about any time, but I really love it when fall rolls around. A bartender from a very exclusive country club shared this recipe with me, so you know it will be amazing!
Invite your friends over for a cocktail hour and look like a rockstar serving this delicious pear cocktail! This just may become your signature cocktail as a mixologist!
This pear vodka martini is quick and easy to make at home. First, sugar the rim of a martini glass. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add all the martini ingredients. Now shake! Strain and pour into a prepared glass. How easy is that?!!
This martini is made with commercially produced pear vodka. If you’d prefer a fresh version, you can make it by muddling a fresh pair and using plain vodka. If you want a smooth, pulp-free pear vodka cocktail, muddle the pear separately with crushed ice in a cocktail shaker and strain it before combining it with the rest of the martini ingredients.
I’ve noticed many recipes online for pear martinis with elderflower liqueur. Elderflower liqueur is an artisanal French liqueur flavored with elderflower blossoms. It has a slight pear flavor but a strong perfume taste. I personally prefer my martini without that perfume taste and with a cleaner, true pear flavor.

Let’s shake up this martini!
Before You Begin
✨ Use fresh lemon juice! Bottled juice just won’t deliver that same bright, fresh tang that makes this cocktail sparkle.
✨ Choose your pear vodka wisely. I use Absolut Pear Vodka — it has a beautifully clean, true pear flavor that’s not overly sweet or artificial.
✨ No need for simple syrup. Granulated sugar dissolves perfectly when shaken, giving just the right touch of sweetness without extra steps.
✨ Chill your martini glasses. Pop them in the freezer for a few minutes before serving for that frosty, bar-quality presentation.
✨ Garnish matters. A thin slice of pear on a cocktail pick instantly makes this drink look restaurant-ready.
What is Pear Vodka?
Pear vodka is simply vodka flavored with either imitation or natural pear flavoring. Sugar is often added to vodka.
🍸 Ingredients for Pear Martini
This is just a quick glance at what you’ll need. For exact measurements and the full ingredient list, head down to the recipe card below.
Sugar Rim
-
Lemon wedge: Helps the sugar stick and adds a fresh citrus aroma to every sip.
-
Granulated sugar: Creates a sparkly, sweet rim — no need for fancy cocktail sugar.
Martini
-
Pear vodka: I recommend Absolut Pear Vodka for a natural pear taste. (Skip Grey Goose La Poire if you find it too strong or perfumey!)
-
Sugar: Regular granulated sugar works beautifully — it dissolves right into the shaker.
-
Fresh lemon juice: Brightens the flavor and keeps the drink crisp.
-
Apple juice + cranberry juice: They sound unexpected, but together they balance the pear flavor perfectly.
-
Ice: Essential for that frosty, shaken-not-stirred texture.
Garnish
-
Fresh pear slices: For a beautiful, elegant finish.
⭐ Pro Tips
⭐ Spiced Pear Twist: Want a cozy variation for fall? Swap the sugar for spiced simple syrup (simmer equal parts water and sugar with cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise).
⭐ Vodka vs. Gin: A classic martini uses gin, but pear vodka keeps the flavor light and fruity. Try both and see which you love!
⭐ No pear juice needed: The vodka already provides all the pear flavor — but you can add a splash of pear nectar for extra sweetness if you’d like.
⭐ Strain once and done: No need to double-strain — a single strain removes ice chips and keeps the texture smooth.
⭐ Presentation matters: Use a thin slice of pear on a cocktail pick, or float one slice right on top of the drink for a pretty touch.

Frequently Asked Questions
⭐ What is pear vodka made from?
Pear vodka is simply vodka infused with natural or imitation pear flavor. Absolut Pear Vodka is my favorite — smooth, crisp, and not overly sweet.
⭐ Is there sugar in Absolut Pear Vodka?
No, Absolut Pear Vodka has no added sugar and about 98 calories per shot.
⭐ Can I use simple syrup instead of sugar?
You can, but it’s not necessary. The sugar dissolves completely when shaken with ice, so you’ll save a step without sacrificing taste.
⭐ What’s the difference between a regular and spiced pear martini?
A spiced pear martini uses a spiced simple syrup infused with warm spices like cinnamon, cloves, or star anise for a cozy fall twist.
⭐ Can I make it ahead of time?
Yes! Mix all ingredients (except ice) in a pitcher, chill, and shake individual portions with ice just before serving.
How to Store and Make Ahead
- How Long Can You Keep This In The Fridge? Vodka can be kept in the fridge or freezer indefinitely, but since this cocktail mixture has apple juice, it can only be kept for 7-10 days. Store in an airtight container. If you plan to store it, do not shake it over ice; mix all the ingredients together and shake it over ice when you’re ready to serve.
- Can You Freeze This? If you have some extra, pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze it for 8-12 months. Add the ice cubes to a cocktail glass and top with seltzer for a lovely, light cocktail.
- Make-Ahead Tips: This is best made fresh! Mix the martini ingredients together, add ice, and garnish once you’re ready to drink it.

Pear Martini
Ingredients
Sugar Rim:
- 1 wedge lemon
- 1/4 cup sugar
Martini:
- 1 1/2 ounces pear vodka
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 wedges lemon juiced
- 1/2 ounce apple juice
- 1/2 ounce cranberry juice
- ice
Garnish:
- pear sliced
Instructions
- Pour sugar onto a small plate in a thin, even layer. Rub the lemon wedge around the rim of 2 martini glasses. Dip the rim of your glasses into the sugar and set them aside.
- Add pear vodka (1 1/2 ounces), sugar (1 teaspoon), juiced lemon (2 wedges), apple juice (1/2 ounce), and cranberry juice (1/2 ounce) to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake to combine.
- Pour martini into 2 glasses, and decorate with sliced pear. Cheers!
Notes
- Pear Vodka: I use Absolute pear vodka. I know a lot of people think that pear cocktail with grey goose is better, but while it may be controversial to say, I honestly don't care for the taste of Grey Goose La Poire Vodka. I think it has a strong, strange pear flavor.
- Sugar: The recipe uses granulated sugar. It dissolves beautifully in the shaker. No need to go to the extra step of making simple syrup.
- Lemon: Please use fresh lemon in this recipe!
- Apple Juice and Cranberry Juice: These juices don't seem like they would fit into the flavor this martini! Surprisingly, they blend in perfectly and the end result is the perfect pear flavor!
- Pear: The fresh pear is just for garnish. I like to add one thinly sliced pear to a cocktail pick for a pretty presentation.
