Dorito Chicken is crispy, juicy, and ridiculously crave-worthy — a fun weeknight dinner that brings everyone running to the table! It’s coated in crushed Doritos (yes, those Doritos!) for a cheesy, crunchy crust that tastes like pure nostalgia.
Why this recipe is so delicious: tender chicken breasts stay perfectly moist thanks to a thin layer of seasoned mayo, and the crushed Doritos bake into a golden, flavorful crust. It’s weeknight-friendly, family-approved, and just plain fun.

💗 Pull up a chair — it’s time for chicken night with a crunchy, cheesy twist!
Before You Begin
✨ Choose your crunch: Pulse the Doritos in a food processor until they’re finely crushed for even coating — or leave them slightly chunky for extra crunch.
✨ Line your pan: Use parchment paper or a foil-lined baking sheet for easy cleanup.
✨ Use thin chicken breasts: If your chicken breasts are thick, pound them to an even thickness so they cook quickly and evenly.
✨ No food processor? Place the chips in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
✨ Serve immediately: Like most crispy coatings, this one is best right out of the oven when the Dorito crust is at its crunchiest!

What to Serve With Dorito Chicken
Fresh + Crisp Sides
Balance that cheesy crunch with something bright and fresh like KFC coleslaw, house salad with buttermilk dressing, or carrot salad.
Cozy Breads
Nothing beats a warm bread side like super-easy Bisquick biscuits or cheesy Mexican cornbread.
Sweet Finishes
End the meal on a sweet note with Hershey chocolate chip cookies, banana cake with cream cheese frosting, or peach cobbler.
Storing + Freezing + Make-Ahead
How Long Can You Keep This In The Fridge?
Your chicken can be wrapped and kept in the fridge for 3-4 days. This dish seems to store best on a plate wrapped in cling wrap or foil, but it can also go into an airtight container with a secure lid
Can You Freeze This?
If prepared properly, your chicken makes a great freezer meal. Be sure to let it cool completely, then slide it into the freezer on a plate or sheet pan until it hardens.
Once the chicken begins to freeze, you can stack the individual pieces [separated by wax paper] in a freezer-safe container and label it. Good to go!
Your chicken can go straight from the freezer to a preheated oven. Let it heat thoroughly until the crust starts to crisp back up, and dinner is served.
Make-Ahead Tips
Making this tasty chicken recipe only takes a ten-minute prep, and it can be on the table in half an hour. So, there’s really no prep to speak of. For best results, I recommend serving this chicken freshly made but you can always go the freezer route, too.
