Pineapple Fluff is a tropical and refreshing dessert salad that is so fun to serve. Put on an Aloha shirt and serve some Mai Tais with this wonderful traditional dessert that comes together in minutes!
Crushed pineapple, Cool Whip, mini marshmallows, pecans, and shredded coconut make this dessert a perfect crowd-pleaser at summer get-togethers!
If you’re a fan of fluff like my family is, I hope you’ll try our Oreo fluff, cherry fluff, strawberry fluff, and Watergate salad (aka pistachio fluff).
Pineapple Fluff Ingredients
- Vanilla pudding mix: any brand will do
- Pineapple: I use crushed canned pineapple, which adds complexity to the fruit flavor.
- Cool Whip: Do not substitute this ingredient. Cool whip will stabilize the dessert, so it doesn’t fall like real whipped cream.
- Mini Marshmallows: Fluffy goodness adds texture and interest to this dessert.
- Shredded Coconut: I use sweetened shredded coconut, which adds chewy sweetness.
- Pecans: I prefer pecans for a little crunch. You can also use walnuts.
Tips
- Dishes For Serving: You can serve pineapple fluff in individual dessert cups or in a large salad bowl.
- Remember Refrigeration Time: This dessert salad can be made in minutes. A one to two-hour refrigeration time is needed before serving.
Storing + Freezing + Make-Ahead
- How Long Can You Keep This in The Fridge? Once prepared, your pineapple fluff recipe with Cool whip will last up to four days in the fridge.
- Can You Freeze This? I do not recommend freezing.
- Make-Ahead: You can prepare this dessert ahead of time. Just cover and store it in the refrigerator.
