Cherry Fluff Ingredients
- Cherry Pie Filing: Any brand will work. This canned filling is a great shortcut, giving this dessert its classic cherry taste.
- Pineapple: I use crushed canned pineapple, which adds complexity to the fruit flavor.
- Cool Whip: Do not substitute this ingredient. Cool whip will stabilize the dessert, so it doesn’t fall like real whipped cream.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: This thick sweetened milk lends sweetness and creaminess to the fluff.
- Marshmallows: Fluffy goodness adds texture and interest to this dessert
- Pecans: I prefer pecans for a little crunch. You can also use walnuts.
- Shredded Coconut: I use sweetened shredded coconut, which adds chewy sweetness.
Tips
- Serving: You can serve cherry fluff salad in individual dessert cups or in a large salad bowl for large parties like on the Fourth of July!
- Plan For Refrigerator Time: This cherry fluff with pineapple comes together in minutes. A two-hour refrigeration time is needed before serving.
Storing + Freezing + Make-Ahead
- How Long Can You Keep This in The Fridge? Once prepared, your cherry marshmallow fluff will last up to four days in the fridge.
- Can You Freeze This? I do not recommend freezing.
- Make-Ahead: You can prepare this cherry fluff dessert ahead of time. Just cover and store it in the refrigerator.
Serving Recommendations
This cherry fluff salad with Cool Whip makes a great side dish or light dessert. We serve it at Easter dinner, potlucks, and family bbq’s.
It’s great with grilled flank steak, shish kabobs, beer brats, steak sandwich, grilled cilantro lime chicken, buttermilk roasted chicken, air fryer chicken, instant pot lemon chicken, and Greek chicken.
